I found this poetry when I was investigating problems I had with NFS mounted data that we reexported throught samba. After reading this I was confinced that this looked a lot like our problem and after that we very quickly found the sollution that did it for us. The following URL gives a patch in comment 2 for samba that gives you the possebillity to disable flocks on samba shares.
